Norton AntiBot is a software, developed by Symantec, for the detection of bots and other malicious threats. It monitors background processes and looks for malicious behaviour. The program’s behavioural analysis technology is licensed from Sana Security by Symantec. It is a form of HIPS, or Host-Based Intrusion Prevention System.

Norton AntiBot monitors applications and processes running in the computer in order to detect and remove bots and malware that may be present. It uses over 300 parameters, such as whether an installed program creates a desktop shortcut, a Add/Remove Programs entry, etc.The application can be used in conjunction with existing security software.
